All cash donations to MERCY Malaysia are tax-exempted under sub-section 44 (6) of Income Tax ACT 1967, Ref No: LHDN 01/35/42/51/179-6.5204 Government Gazette: 5879 dated: 01/02/2003. MERCY Malaysia has been appointed as a Zakat Collection and Distribution Agent by Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah (LZNK), Majlis Agama Islam Perlis (MAIPS) and Majlis Agama Islam Kelantan (MAIK) respectively. Muslims are encouraged to pay their zakat to the respective Zakat authorities through MERCY Malaysia. Through the Zakat initiative, MERCY MALAYSIA provides an efficient, trusted and discreet route to ensure Zakat contributions go directly to the people most in need.
All receipts for Zakat payment to Majlis Agama Islam Perlis, Majlis Agama Islam Kelantan and Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah will be issued by the respective Zakat Authorities.
